The Evansville Otters Run was held Saturday August 12,2006 at Bosse Field in Evansville, just prior to the doubleheader between the Evansville Otters and the Florence Freedom from Kentucky. The 5K run sponsored by the Greater Evansville Runners/Walkers Club is a yearly event where each individual is given a time handicap based on age and sex, then a staggered start. The overall winner this year was Curtis Stautz. The race which normally ends in the stadium, finished by the Garvin Park fountain because of the early start for the doubleheader. The race T-shirt was again designed by the Greater Evansville Runners club's own Cedric Hustace. All the participants received a complementary pass to the game.
